I’m writing a blog post about this because I find it to be a fascinating use case for AI-assisted programming.

My son has ADHD and Dyslexia. Combined, it make coding very hard for him. He’s always wanted to build games but a single misspelled variable or a misplaced decimal can cause errors that feed the tediousness that ADHD brains tend to run from. ChatGPT has given him an outlet to build games in a way his mind prefers.

Digging saymore btw!

Love to hear that, dude What about it are you enjoying?

Justin Hunter

It’s reinforcement. You put something out there and likes replies might indicate that people want you to keep doing it, but SayMore is more specific validation.

🥲 that’s exactly what my gut was telling me happen. Will work hard to make it more useful end to end so the value isn’t just in the upfront signal 😩

Thanks, Les! He wants to get the game to test flight at least before I publish anything.

I have adhd and chatgpt has helped me organize creative projects & execution. It has saved me months/years of work.

That’s amazing! It’s an under-discussed benefit of AI in general i think.

Chic Bangs

@chicbangs

I think so too. I didn’t even consider how powerful it could be in that way.

I’m glad it’s providing your son with an outlet for to create!!

My stepson has ADHD, dysgraphia and ASD. He enjoyed block coding when he was younger but refused to switched to typed coding. I should try out ChatGPT with him. He'll have to dictate though since he won't type long prompts either.

Justin Hunter

@polluterofminds

Yep same thing with my son. He did scratch programming for a while and enjoyed that.

Sam

@samantha

Not sure how old he is or how advanced his coding skills are, but I used to use this Robot + Scratch to teach kids how to code! I’d make up challenges for them - bring the robot from point A to point B to find treasure, make a play etc. And I think they found it a lot of fun!

Your example makes me, a former educator now coach, smile. Thank you, Justin. Excited to see what your son builds.

That's pretty cool. It's definitely made coding/brainstorming less daunting for me as well. Btw I found your tutorial on medium regarding the video app. Thank you for that.

Very cool! Thanks for reading it. 🙏
