1) Writing emails to clients 2) writing proposals on Upwork 3) writing cover letters 4) brainstorming ideas 5) life advice 6) pricing my freelance work for each client 7) script writing for videos 8) when editing video and the audio is distorted, I have Claude finish sentences based on describing sounds I’m hearing

How is your experience freelancing on Upwork? Are you programming or video editing or something else? @saymore

Claude is fantastic. And wild that it’s free (for now!) It’s almost completely replaced ChatGPT for me. It has the speed of GPT-3.5 with some of the functionality of GPT-4. GPT-4 might be better in some areas (plug-ins, code interpreter, browsing) - for now Claude has become my daily driver.

Never heard of Claude, will have to check it out 🙏👍

Oooh interesting. What’s it doing better than ChatGPT outside of speed? Or is it mostly speed?

If you have budget to pay for GPT-4 then Claude may not have a huge advantage Here’s why I use Claude: 1) Claude is free and has GPT-4 level writing capability in my experience 2) By default you can upload documents to Claude - great UX 3) Claude has a 100k token context window, so it can read large documents

Okay, that is super useful (documents). Will give it a shot

It’s by Anthropic and is a game changer… I also quite like perplexity.ai

It works pretty well with free Opera VPN.

Interesting. Curious - When do you use Claude in your day to day?

Definitely faster and the larger context window is great but I don’t know if it’s as great at reasoning. I still often run both of them simultaneously. What do you use it for mostly?

Shannon Leonard

@shanleo

Ah interesting! yes I sometimes feel GPT-4 is slightly ‘smarter’ as well, although the price of Claude is hard to beat. And I like the UX. Here’s some of my use cases:

Another friend told me just today he liked the UX more. What do you like more about it? I have to hear more about this one. What does this mean? 8) when editing video and the audio is distorted, I have Claude finish sentences based on describing sounds I’m hearing

@shanleo

1-The UX is not as fragmented as ChatGPT (no need to switch between models or modes) - it’s a clean interface that allows easy uploading of documents, and there’s details like fun + smooth animations 2-When video editing and adding captions, sometimes audio is distorted and Claude can guess the end of a sentence

I’ve been working on video editing and AI production projects, so far Upwork is not perfect (for example, you have to pay to send proposals) but it has a large supply of active clients, and has been valuable for me as I figure out freelancing (after years of non-freelance work)
