Reading Theodore Herzel, one of the foremost books in history to go from: pamphlet (book) > germinating idea > crowd-sourcing money > buy physical land > establish a state (i.e Israel). @balajis.eth mentions this v eloquently.

One interesting tooling though Herzel mentions is the 'Jewish Company' which to me is like a REIT++. (does the job of real estate investing like a REIT but also organises commerce on behalf of the community). Something to ponder? @vitalik.eth

(BTW big disclaimer: I do feel terrible for all civilian lives lost in the current wars. I pray for their souls and their families strength to live happy, prosperous, peaceful and free lives like we envisage in a well functioning network state. Purely picked this topic up to educate myself more.)

Never thought about Herzl in that light

Retrospectively everything looks romantic, but took 50 yrs to go from first distribution to state creation.

yeah, with a few hiccups in between - still a historic feat. I cannot think of any other instance (modern or not) where a state was built, as opposed to handed out or partitioned, out of sheer will and private property
